The Golden phone call

My phone woke me up — and this time, it was THE call … well, the call that I’m a Golden Heart finalist, at least.

“Beauty and the Ballplayer” finaled in the contemporary series category.

More later, since I’m sure this is the beginning of a long, wild ride!

My immediate dilemma: How can I get a flattering headshot for the Jumbotron? Well, I do work with a bunch of photographers. Maybe one of them will be up to the task.

It’s an amazing experience and I’m so glad you get to have it. What a wonderful way to wake up! Congratulations. I want to hear the deets about THE CALL.

Sadly, being asleep when the phone rang, I can’t provide many deets … I don’t even remember which board member called me. (Terrible, I know. But I was more focused on the message than the messenger.)

I just saw that news myself. And the agent requested a full. You can bet I’ll be contacting her … though I’m a little nervous about it, since I was placed in the wrong category (I’m series, she judged single title).

That’s what cover letters are for. 🙂 So excited for you. Go buy some lottery tickets because, man, today is YOUR DAY.

Hmm … maybe I should. I need to win the lottery to afford airfare/hotel/conference registration. 😉

I know. I’m still bouncing in my seat … without the aid of caffeine. I might be back to normal energy level by Sunday.
